The Call of the Road
I will hit the road again!
I'm Toby Lauwerier from Ghent, Belgium. May 24th 2017 I am leaving for Moscow - Russia, yes indeed. That's another 4000 kilometer ride from my hometown - taking the long way. I should be there less than a month later.
I am looking forward to a lot of things - crossing Germany once again, being in Czech Republic for the first time in 20 years, discovering a little bit more of Slovakia, being in Poland, Latvia and Russia for the first time ever and catching up with my long time Lithuanian friends - it's all very exciting (although... I am not there yet). Besides that I am looking forward very much to meet my warmshowers hosts, other friends and friends of friends along the way. Thanks in advance very much for your hospitality and be welcome in Ghent any time!
During my ride, for sure I will keep you posted on how it's going. Thank you for following my blog, I hope you'll like it!
Have a look at www.theroadtoistanbul.weebly.com to read something about my previous ride - I mean big ride.
See you on the road/from the road!
Update 02.07.2017: The Road to Moscow has come to an end. I was away from home for 39 days. I have not only cycled to Moscow but also a part of the way back home (in Latvia, Lithuania and Germany) for a total distance of 4700km in 28 days! I had 11 days off-bike (or with only a little bit of cycling). You can read the day-by-day story in the blog (of course)!
